4 Must-Have Colors For Fall Decorating

Color is my thang!  And fall is my favorite season!  So it’s only right that I share four of my favorites colors to use in my favorite season!  I encourage everyone to use color in their room designs.  Why?  Well, color has soooo many functions for designing a space, your options are endless. For instance, color can define and or separate areas in a large space, it can connect spaces for a more cohesive look, and can actually make spaces look bigger, smaller, brighter, more intimate…. you name it and color can probably do it for you.  These 4 colors for fall do it for me.  Take a sneak peek at these awesome spaces to get some ideas on how to incorporate them into your fall decor plan for a comfy-cozy living space!

Teal.  Teal is one of my year-round favorites because it reminds me of the ocean.  It’s calming, yet can still liven up a space while keeping it cozy.  That’s exactly what this this wall drenched in that beautiful color does for this room from How To Decorate.  Jewel tones are a trendy color scheme that always works to cozy-up a room.

Rust.  What would Fall be without the warm and beautiful glow of rust? Think falling leaves and cool autumn breezes.  Rust is earthy and earthy colors add depth and warmth in a bold way.  Use accessories such as pillows and blankets like this fall vignette from Better Homes & Gardens.  Making the window treatments the same bold color provides balance and harmony to the space and makes the room look effortless.

Grays & Wood Tones.  Going with a neutral tones can make for one sumptuous and comforting space.  Gray is my new favorite neutral because it seems to go with almost any seasonal color scheme.  (Brown is my old stand-by fave)  The beauty of gray is that the undertones, or the underlying color family used to make up that gray, can be warmed up to make a flawless complement to your fall decor.  Actual wood furniture and accessories that have a lot of texture provide the perfect Fall color as in this inviting living room from Town & Country Living.  Try adding accessories like the wooden mirror, baskets and trays to incorporate into your room.

Gold.  Gold is the ultimate color of warmth and welcome.  Making your home more golden in the fall is a good move, especially in places like your fireplace mantle.  Take cues from this picture I found on Houzz,  by using clear vases and filling them with golden wicker balls, dried flowers and leaves.  The amazing autumn gold wall is a color you’d be able to pull off anytime of year!

I hope you explore the wonderful world of color by adding some of these fall favorites to your decorating plan.  If you would like a second opinion or help choosing the right colors to go with your existing design, please get in touch, I’d love to help you with a virtual consultation!  Enjoy Fall!
